Located at the Gateway to the Rocky Mountain National Park in Estes Park, Colorado, Cheley Camps has been providing youth development opportunities for children around the world for 85 years. Since 1921, the Cheley family has been committed to the lives of young people. The focus of the family is to continue the values and beliefs of a man with a vision. Frank Cheley, the founder of Cheley Camps, lived a life focused on youth. He believed “that great things happen when youth and mountains meet.” He was also the author of over 40 books on youth development, camping, and becoming a better person. Books like The Job of being a Dad, The Will to Win, and After All, It Is Up to You. Now as the camp transitions into the fourth generation, the time-tested values continue to be encouraged in a nurturing, exciting, and beautiful setting. Each summer, campers from over 40 states and 10 foreign countries come to our summer sessions at Cheley Camps to explore the wilderness, make new friends and become better people during a four or eight week experience full of hiking, backpacking, horseback riding and much more.
Our Mission
To inculcate in boys and girls that spirit of honesty, purity, unselfishness, love, alertness, determination, and courage which is the foundation for all that is big and fine in American life and character, and more than this, the Summer Camp aims to help boys and girls cultivate the ability to act spontaneously in the right.
